• Ship and yacht activities outside Panamanian territory are not subject to local taxes.
• Legislation does not require that the owner of the ship or yacht be a Panamanian resident.

Types of registration

1. Official license of navigation
2. License issued under a Bareboat-Chartered agreement
3. Special registration for pleasure yachts

BVI

• Citizens or corporations from BVI, United Kingdom, European Community, European Economic Area and Caribbean Community can own a BVI ship or yacht meeting particular safety and other requirements.
